SENDIASS Advice Line text

If you can’t find the information that you are looking for on our website or you need more individual advice, you can contact our SENDIASS advice line.

Our trained SENDIASS advisers can give you impartial, confidential information on anything to do with SEND.

You can contact the service using our online registration form (below), emailing sendiass@amazesussex.org.uk or leaving a message on 01273 772289.

Advisers respond to enquiries Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Who can use the SENDIASS advice line?

The SENDIASS advice line is open to:

  • Parents of children and young people aged 0-25 who have, or may have, a special educational need or disability (SEND). This includes long term medical conditions and mental health.
  • Children and young people who have (or may have) a special educational need or disability (SEND) aged 0-25. In practice, this is usually young people aged 12+.

You need to live or go to school or college in East Sussex or Brighton & Hove to use Amaze but there is a SENDIAS service for every area across the country. Find your local SENDIAS service here: http://councilfordisabledchildren.org.uk/information-advice-and-support-services-network/find-your-local-ias-service

What happens when you contact the advice line?

We check messages Monday to Friday. We aim to respond within 7 working days. This may be sooner for time-sensitive queries and longer for less urgent issues.

We may start by sending you an email with information tailored to your enquiry. You will be able to come back to us with follow up questions if you need to.

If you are a child or young person, our young people’s adviser will contact you.

Tell us if there is anything we should know about your communication needs so we can respond to you well.

If you can’t speak to us in English, contact Sussex Interpreting Service for help with getting in touch. We may be able to arrange an appointment with an interpreter. We also produce a service leaflet in a number of different languages that explains what we do and how we can help. Internal link
